Shire City Makerspace is a member-based makerspace (what is a makerspace?) that focuses on light industrial processes. Currently our strength is in textiles but with more membership support we intend to increase our digital fabrication (3D printing and CNC) capabilities.

Our makerspace is divided into three areas: Fiber ArtsScreen Printing, and the Technology Lab.

A good introduction to our makerspace is to take a class to learn about our space and how to use our equipment. Makerspace members and Friends of SCS members both get discounts on classes.

Makerspace Memberships give you 24/7 access to the equipment once you’re comfortable with it. Memberships are an important way to support the development of the makerspace aspect of SCS. Makerspace members influence the equipment we purchase and the classes we offer.

Fiber Arts

Our Fiber Arts area is outfitted for sewing, knitting, dress-making, and quilt-making.
